Focus
Creating works of art requires focus. Successful artists are clear with the focus of their works. In this issue, we celebrate both the literal and figurative focus that drives creatives forward. Our cover is integral in representing the issue, as well as representing both our brand and the community it serves.
Art Director Detavius Niblack conceptualized, strategized, and coordinated this cover which was photographed by Censay Darilus. They collaborated with powerhouse Tori Poor of Poor Girl Vintage for styling, completing the ensemble.
Poor Girl is a brand built around vintage clothing, friendship and nostalgia. Her growing collection inspires her styling decisions.
For the FOCUS shoot, she honed in on the power of womxn. Strong pieces like an oversized blazer, thick fringe gloves, sharp shoulders, and chainmail are a few of the selections used. Even amidst the chaos, these pieces stand strong.
